Fashion changes, and golf clubs our golf club reflects this. Different dress is appropriate to different locations and occasions, is in good part a matter of individual taste, and the key is to dress with respect for oneself, the occasion and fellow members. It follows that making a list of banned items which is both supported and obeyed by most Members/Visitors is well nigh impossible, and quickly becomes outdated.
Our dress code is therefore simple:
On the golf course suitable golf wear must be worn, including:
- Proper golf shoes and, especially if wearing shorts, suitable sports socks
- In the clubhouse smart casual dress is appropriate on other than more formal occasions
The above should not be taken as ‘letting standards slip’, indeed rather the reverse. If any member/visitor is deemed to be abusing this guidance, the Club Manager will quickly notify him or her in writing.
